Everyday our friends over at Party Idea {Pros} inspire us to find creative ways to connect and reconnect with family and friends.  We love their twitter slogan – wise words we could all benefit from heeding.

Celebrate {Life} – No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep.

And in honor of the announcement of the engagements of the children of not 1, not 2, but 3 of our close friends over the last few weeks, we are devoting the entire week to creative, easy, DIY party and wedding ideas. Although Shannon, one of the most beautiful brides ever, would disagree with us, we truly believe one of the most stressful days in the entire wedding planning journey is seat assignments.  Personally, we have spent hours and hours working and re-working our seating charts.  Getting just the right mix of people at each and every table can make or break the energy of the entire evening.  Note to  guests – please, please call your hosts if for some reason you need to cancel.  We just attended a wedding where an entire table of 10 was left decimated by no shows. The host, thinking on her feet, quickly remedied what could have been an awkward situation by moving the two remaining couples to new tables.

Although far less important than determining who sits with whom, finding a way to communicate the assigned seating in a classy and festive way is one of our favorite aspects of party planning.  Just this morning we happened upon the new Zazzle wedding blog.  We not only loved the fact that we could easily create our own escort card / place card design or customize one of thousands of designs already made from re-purposed business cards, we thought the idea of using vintage frames, twine, and mini clothes pins to hang the cards was truly inspired.

Dare to be Great!
